Columbia Basin Health Association Welcomes Three New Board Members

Othello, WA - Columbia Basin Health Association welcomes Janelle Andersen, Martin Gallardo and Ross Bushong to its Board of Directors.

“The CBHA Board of Directors and staff are pleased to welcome three new board members from Othello and Connell,” said Greg Brandenburg, CEO of Columbia Basin Health Association. “The addition of the three new members ensures that our diversity in opinions and input will continue to grow and benefit the company.”

Janelle Andersen, owner of Othello’s Anytime Fitness, brings several years of healthcare experience to the Board. She worked as a respiratory therapy assistant at Othello Community Hospital. Andersen is also very involved in the community. She is currently Othello Chamber of Commerce president, on the Community Schools board, and a 4-H leader. This year she is helping to plan Othello’s Patriot Day (formerly Sun Faire). Andersen has lived in Othello since 1986 and recognizes that “if you want a good community you have to help out.” Andersen’s passion for her community and the people we serve will be a great asset to CBHA’s Board of Directors.

Martin Gallardo has worked at the Warden Golf Course for the past 16 years. He currently serves on the board of the Inland Empire Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America. Gallardo is looking forward to “helping out in any way possible.” Gallardo brings with him a deep-seeded work ethic and drive. His creativity and determination to succeed will help to bring unique ideas and concepts to the CBHA Board.

Ross Bushong works for Walla Walla Community College teaching graphic design at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell, Washington. Last year he started a program with the state that allows him to teach courses at the prison. He has lived in Connell for 20 years with his wife, Melissa. Bushong has served on the Board of Directors for the Heritage Museum in Connell and ran the Connell Car Show for four years. He is excited to represent Connell. “I want to make sure Connell has representation for our wants and needs for medical services. I believe in CBHA’s mission statement and I would like to be an advocate for CBHA in my community,”
said Bushong. His eagerness to represent and serve his community will bring a much needed perspective from CBHA’s Connell service area.

With the addition of Andersen, Gallardo and Bushong, the CBHA Board of Directors now has 13 members. Other Board Members include Everett Cole, Chairman; Joe Montemayor, Vice-Chair; Kate Brueske, Treasurer; Maxine Taylor, Secretary; Maggie Gutierrez; Dora Beraza; Enrique Miron; Maria Villa; Mike Garza and Barbara Walters.

All CBHA Board Members are volunteers. If you would like more information on how you can become a member of the Board of Directors for CBHA, contact Sandra Suarez at 509-488-5256.
