CBHA Awarded Continued Joint Commission Accreditation

By demonstration compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA) has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™. CBHA has been Joint Commission accredited since 2002.

“Achieving accreditation demonstrates CBHA has voluntarily sought an independent evaluation of its compliance with state-of-the-art performance standards,” says Michael Kulczycki, executive director, Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program, The Joint Commission.

“We work very hard to ensure the best quality in patient care, superiority in healthcare standards, and constant progression in employee knowledge in all of our clinics. We seek accreditation because we want to be the best. Obtaining Joint Commission accreditation is another step towards our goals,” said Greg Brandenburg, Chief Executive Officer of CBHA.

“Our staff is very supportive of the process. It gives them a feeling of prestige to work in an accredited organization,” said Dulcye Field, Director of Quality for CBHA. “They also appreciate the educational aspects of the survey and the opportunity to interact with The Joint Commission.”

An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission is the predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Since 1975, The Joint Commission has developed state-of-the-art standards for outpatient ambulatory care organizations. Only around 1,200 freestanding ambulatory care organizations maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.
