LOCATION:
Othello Family Clinic - 1 full-time position, 1 part-time position
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Assistant, located in the Pharmacy, will perform all duties within the pharmacy as permitted under the Laws of the State of Washington. This position is being offered at our Othello Family Clinic and our Wahluke Family Clinic.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:
The Pharmacy Assistant will be engaged in the following duties:

Provide assistance to the Pharmacist to assure the pharmacy runs in a smooth and non-chaotic fashion.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assist the Pharmacist to insure that each patient who speaks and understands only Spanish receives clear instruction how to use their prescription medication.
- Generate necessary pharmacy records including daily records.
- Assist the Pharmacist to maintain computer records on each patient to insure all allergy and other pertinent data is recorded.
- Balance financial transaction at beginning of each day.
- File RX
- Check for outdates.
- Serve as interpreter when necessary.
- Perform necessary and appropriate housekeeping functions.
- Enter and transmit pharmaceutical orders to prime vendor.
- Order drugs through the automatic reorder system using the pharmacy software/prim drug vendor interface.
- Give good customer service at the pharmacy service counter, and keep this a priority over other non-customer activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High degree of organization and accuracy with attention to numerous details.
- Ability to work under conditions of frequent interruption.
- Ability to work under stress.
- Working knowledge of computers, typewriters, and calculators.
- Ability to communicate with others.
- AIDS Training required by Certified HIV Counselor (1 time only).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, fingers, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, and talk frequently. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
VISION REQUIREMENTS:
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write and speak fluently in both English and Spanish.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Assistant.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
SUPERVISOR: Pharmacist
CO-WORKERS: Works closely with all Pharmacy, Providers, and Nursing staff.
