Raul Mendoza, PA-C
Family Practice

Raul Mendoza, PA-C, is happy to be an official member of the CBHA medical staff.  Raul spent some time at CBHA over a year ago when he was a student. “Annie Coronado and I were in PA School together at the University of WA,” he said.  “She told me what a wonderful place CBHA was.”  As a result Raul requested, and was granted, a rotation at CBHA. “My rotation here gave me a good sense of what family practice is all about…what to expect in a rural setting,” he said.  I observed that patients received an excellent level of care at CBHA.”

Raul was born and raised in Sunnyside, WA; he was a 1998 graduate of Prosser High School.  His parents were farm workers; Raul grew up working in the fields.  “I grew up in the same environment as many of our patients and I feel privileged to help them with their health care needs.”

Raul loves to fish and is excited about being able to do that now.  He especially likes to fish for trout and bass.  He also likes to BBQ – hopefully grilling the fish he plans to catch.  Raul’s father has passed away; his mother is retired.  He has three brothers, one who has recently been appointed as judge in Benton County, and another who lives in Pasco.  “I’m lucky that my family lives close by,” he said.  “I love having them come over for barbeques.”

JoEun Gilland, ARNP
Family Practice

Jo-Eun Gilland, ARNP, grew up in South Korea.  She attended Inje University from 2002 to 2004 when she moved to Seattle, WA with her family. After living in a large, crowded, noisy Korean city, Jo-Eun found living and getting around in Seattle almost relaxing.  She continued her education at Highland Community College.

Jo-Eun received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from WSU in 2009.  She then moved to Othello to work as an RN at Othello Community Hospital.  She continued to be employed at the hospital until just recently.  She reached her goal of being a Family Nurse Practitioner/ARNP in 2013 when she graduated from WSU, Richland. Her rotations at various clinics allowed her to see that she enjoys patients of different ages and varying medical conditions Jo-eun remembers always wanting to work in health care – even as a small child – and is delighted to be here.

She recently joined the CBHA medical staff.  She did an early rotation at CBHA while she was still in training.  She found the atmosphere here to be very welcoming and friendly.  Jo-eun met her husband, Daren Gilland, after moving to Othello.  Jo-eun loves to bake and is concentrating on cooking right now.  She likes to read; she is also a runner.  She usually runs in two half marathons a year and is considering doing a triathlon in 2013.
