“Mental health services are rare in rural areas, especially ours,
so I love that I am able to provide mental health services to the people
of my community who are in need. ”
Elsie Garza grew up in the Othello community, and later earned her bachelor
and master’s degrees in clinical social work from Eastern Washington
University. She is a licensed mental health counselor and speaks Spanish
fluently. Having worked at CBHA since 2015, Elsie says she most enjoys
hearing people speak about their life stories while joining them on a
journey of healing to lead a life of hope worth celebrating.
Elsie sees patients from a wide age range and with a wide variety of behavioral/mental
health concerns; her areas of specialty include:
• Mood disorders i.e. (anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder)
• Personality disorders
• Couples counseling
• Family dynamics i.e. (parenting and discipline, divorce, or blended
family concerns)
• Education about positive parenting techniques
