Negative Coronavirus Tests Far Outweigh Positive Results; Vast Majority of Infections Are Mild
People are understandably anxious about the coronavirus. Uncertainty and
misinformation feed that even more. That’s why it’s important
to continually come back to the facts and the science.
According to the Washington State Department of Health, about 94 percent
of the 14,129 people who have tested for the coronavirus during the last
six days have been
negative. That is, they don’t have the virus. And these are people with respiratory
infection symptoms.

And a large study from China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention
found that 81 percent of patients who do contract the virus have mild
symptoms that can be treated at home.

Let’s keep practicing the recommendations we receive from health
authorities to help keep numbers down!
