Join us in congratulating Jose Alvarez on his most recent Firestarter Award!

Jose is a Patient Service Representative at our Wahluke Clinic. He does a wonderful job always being customer-focused and helping patients feel welcomed, ensuring they receive the proper medications, or making sure they are scheduled correctly to see their medical provider on time. Working full-time in Mattawa, Jose truly exceeds expectations and goes above and beyond to help cover where staffing levels are needed, and he does it with a positive attitude. 

On occasion, we will have community events late in the evenings in Mattawa or early morning volunteer events in Othello or Pasco. Jose shows accountability by being the first to sign up for community events and often says, “Count me in,” which means to put him down wherever coverage is needed, no matter which town we are in. He is often the last person to help with tearing down events with his supervisor and constantly asks when the next scheduled event is.

When did you start at CBHA?

I started working at CBHA on November 23, 2015

What is your job title and day-to-day responsibilities?

My current job title is PSR. My day-to day responsibilities are welcoming and directing patients, scheduling patients, assisting patients and families, checking insurance eligibility, collecting co-payments, and pre-registering patients.

What is your favorite thing about working at CBHA?

My favorite thing about working at CBHA is the opportunity for growth within CBHA and being able to provide quality care to all.

How has CBHA helped you grow in your career?

CBHA has helped me grow in my career by giving me the tools and skill sets to help out patients and families in what they need.

What has been your favorite project at work so far?

My favorite project at work so far is being able to take part in community events and our annual CBHA 5K Color Run event.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

If I could have one superpower, and it would be time travel, and I travel to any time or historical event and see my ancestors.

How do you turn a bad day into a good one?

I turn a bad day into a good day by clearing my mind and listening to music.

What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

When I was a kid, I dreamt of becoming a police officer.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

I don’t have a favorite place to travel to, but I would like to go to Mexico someday.

If you could be any Disney Character which one would you be?

If I could be any Disney Character, I would be Goofy. "Ah-hyuck!"
