First Annual Wahluke Teen Health Fair

This was our first Teen Health Fair at Wahluke High School, and it was a success!

“We had around 130 students who attended and got to chat with many of our vendors.” says Sophia Rodriguez, Family Planning Coordinator

The teen health fair helps students learn about the different community resources available to them. Our hope is that they become more knowledgeable of the different resources in the area so that they can seek those resources when they're looking for further training programs, different sorts of resources for health, safety, wellness.

There were 25 vendors who joined us, including Hope Source, LG Driving School, CBHA’s Behavioral Health Team and so many others!

“We want our community to feel safe as soon as we answer their call and assure that they can trust us, and we're here to help,” says Brenda Nolasco, Office Manager at Grant County Fire District No.8 “Our job is just to make sure everybody has a plan and is always prepared. We just want to share that with the students and have them pass that information on to their parents just in case anything happens.”

We’re so happy to have added a new Behavioral Health Consultant, Andres Lima, to the Wahluke Community. He will be working with students on-site at the high school, being a resource and offering that service to students! Students can scan the QR code to be able to schedule an appointment with me in school and then we can go ahead and see them. Learn more about him HERE

Thank you to all the community businesses that attended this event and provided valuable information for these kids!
