Growing Great Dentists Starts Here: Meet Dr. Sara Shateri
CBHA is proud to welcome Dr. Sara Shateri to our dental residency program! A proud Washington native, Dr. Shateri grew up in the small town of Moses Lake and is excited to return home to serve the community that shaped her.
Dr. Shateri earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Her journey into dentistry has always been guided by a deep desire to give back, especially to communities that are often underserved.
“The supportive and welcoming community of both staff and patients at CBHA played a role in my decision to pursue a residency here,” she shares. “The dedication to serving underserved communities, like the one I grew up in, created an environment where I feel like I can grow personally and professionally.”
During her residency, Dr. Shateri is looking forward to not only expanding her clinical skills but also to giving back to the area she calls home. She is especially passionate about addressing the health disparities in rural communities like Moses Lake and Othello.
“I want my patients to know that I genuinely care about their well-being,” she says. “As someone who comes from this community, I understand its unique needs. I’m committed to providing high-quality and compassionate dental care.”
We’re thrilled to have Dr. Shateri as part of the CBHA team and can’t wait to see the positive impact she’ll make in our community.
CBHA partners with NYU Langone Health’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program to help train residents like Dr. Shateri. Residents join CBHA for a full year, working alongside our dental team to gain hands-on experience and refine their clinical skills. Several past residents have even chosen to continue their careers at CBHA after completing the program!
Under the supervision of our licensed dentists, residents are able to perform a wide range of procedures, including:
Full dental exams and diagnostics

They also educate patients (and parents) on oral health and collaborate with our team to develop personalized treatment plans.
