We want to congratulate Vanessa Guzman on receiving her Firestarter Award!

For the past three years, Vanessa has been a bright light in the Café, welcoming everyone with her positive attitude, daily smiles, and top-notch customer service.

She has a knack for remembering customer preferences and making each visit feel personal, often greeting people by name, asking if they want “the usual,” and confidently assuring them with her signature, “Yep, I gotchu!” 

Vanessa creates a space where patients and staff feel cared for, making her a valuable part of the Café’s positive environment!

When did you start at CBHA?

I started working at CBHA in July of 2021.

What is your job title and day-to-day responsibilities?

I am a Cafe Team Member. Some of my day-to-day responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, preparing coffee and other beverages, and serving select food items.

What is your favorite thing about working at CBHA?

My favorite thing about working at CBHA is meeting new people and building friendships that stem from those connections. And of course, I also really enjoy working with coffee, it’s a big part of what makes the job so fun and rewarding.

How has CBHA helped you grow in your career?

CBHA has helped me grow by providing me with the opportunity to take on various responsibilities at the cafe. They have helped me develop new skills, gain confidence in my role, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

What has been your favorite project at work so far?

My favorite project was being part of the color run my first year at CBHA. I got to work at the start/finish line spraying color on participants. It was so much fun!

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

If I could have one superpower, it would be teleportation. That way, after a long day or week, I could be at Disneyland within seconds.

How do you turn a bad day into a good one?

My favorite coffee always helps me turn a bad day into a good day, and listening to paranormal stories.

What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

When I was a kid, I really wanted to be an elementary school teacher or a mortician.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

My favorite place to travel is California, and visiting family and friends.

If you could be any Disney Character, which one would you be?

If I could be any Disney character, I would be Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
