We are excited to recognize Isabel Abundiz, Dental Patient Services Representative, as our Firestarter recipient! Isabel consistently demonstrates outstanding passion and dedication to the clients she serves. She goes above and beyond to ensure that not only her patients, but their families as well, receive the resources and support they need.

Her commitment creates a meaningful impact on our community and strengthens our team every day. The trust she builds is evident, as many families who have graduated from the program return seeking her guidance because of the lasting difference she has made in their lives.

We are truly fortunate to work alongside Isabel. There is never a dull moment when she is in the office, and her energy and heart make our workplace better for everyone.

When did you start at CBHA?

I started on November 6, 2023.

What is your job title and day-to-day responsibilities?

I am a Dental Patient Services Representative (PSR), and my day-to-day responsibilities include greeting patients as they arrive, assisting them with check-in, and ensuring a smooth front office experience. I pre-register patient appointments, scan and upload forms into patient charts, and schedule future appointments. I also support additional front desk duties as needed to keep operations running efficiently.

What is your favorite thing about working at CBHA?

I like being able to help patients and the flexibility that CBHA offers.

How has CBHA helped you grow in your career?

CBHA gave me the opportunity to continue my education with Grand Canyon University. I will be receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Human Resources and Management.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

If I could have a superpower it would be to talk to cats.

What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

When I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a dental hygienist.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

My favorite place to travel is Cancún.

If you could be any Disney Character which one would you be?

I would be Crush from Finding Nemo

I would like to thank my coworkers for always pushing me to be a better person and for making sure there’s something to laugh about every day. I also want to thank Mat Garza for giving me the opportunity to work at CBHA and for his patience and support.
